Slated to be one of the city’s most sophisticated hotel-style residences, The St. Thomas expects to dazzle. This soon-to-be built, 23-storey Minto Group development will take Bloor-Yorkville’s St. Thomas and Charles streets to new heights. A whimsical presentation gallery heralds the stylistically groundbreaking project that will be home to 48 fortunate residents in less than three years.
Aimed to emulate New York’s Upper East Side, The St. Thomas brings onboard internationally renowned interior designer Brian Gluckstein of Gluckstein Design, as well as David Pontarini of award-winning firm Hariri Pontarini Architects. “The architecture is quite modern and we wanted a space that was modern, but it was rooted in the past, so you also see there’s a lot of furniture and lighting fixtures that are from the 1930s and ’40s and I think that gives the space a lot of personality,” says Gluckstein.
From the exterior, a black granite podium entrance and white stone base with pristine landscaping by Paul Ferris of Ferris and Associates will reflect the gazes of outdoor crowds. “We worked very closely with Minto and with Brian [Gluckstein] to come up with a building that is a mix of contemporary and traditional architecture,” says Pontarini, highlighting the focus on timelessness in the material selection process.
A supreme fit for a 30s – 60s age demographic, The St. Thomas offers urban living for couples that might possess multiple properties and are seeking a city experience. Expected to be one of the hottest addresses in Toronto, 2 St. Thomas St. blends the services and amenities of a five-star hotel with the luxurious comfort of a private condominium.
