Longo's Canada

Longo’s Satisfies our Craving for an Elevated Grocery Experience

There’s no question that food is our essence. It sustains, nourishes and comforts us, while also bringing us pleasure, delighting our taste buds with rich flavours and unleashing our inner chef.

With its new upscale boutique stores, Longo Brothers Fruit Markets Inc. is elevating the grocery experience, restoring the excitement of choosing the perfect ingredients for a recipe or selecting exceptional hors d’oeuvres.

The March grand opening of The Market by Longo’s at Yonge and Bloor represents the chain’s 20th GTA location and third urban format store. This glossy new establishment brings a passion for food, unrivalled expertise and outstanding quality to the downtown masses.

This summer will see Longo’s fourth urban format store open for business at First Canadian Place, while the fall will mark the opening of the much-anticipated flagship store at Maple Leaf Square.

“The fact that our team members take such care in what they do really makes the difference for us,” says Roseanne Longo, Longo’s Marketing Manager. “We really go that extra mile to provide the freshest food items available, which is evidenced by our food experts going to the Ontario Food Terminal six days per week to hand-pick our produce.”

Large enough to carry the selection you crave but intimate enough to move through efficiently, Longo’s offers its customers instant comfort. “We are not the largest of the grocery chains, we don’t have the wide aisles, but what we do have is one-stop convenience and great service from our extensively trained staff,” says Longo’s spokesperson Tom Sfetkoplous.

A family-owned business since 1956, Longo Brothers Fruit Markets Inc. has built its reputation on a strong commitment to quality, service and value. Started by Tommy, Joe and Gus Longo (Roseanne’s father), the first-ever Toronto store was no more than 2,000 sq. ft. and had only eight family members on staff. Since then, the Longo family has created a revered household name in food and continues to be involved in every aspect of the business. “We’re a close-knit family and we work well together,” says Roseanne. “It’s great for us to meet people who share our passion for food because we’re very proud to show them what we have to offer.” www.longos.com.

I've started shopping at Longo's a few months ago. You pay a bit more, but the quality is outstanding!
