Kevin Harrington is more than just the star of ABC’s Shark Tank, he’s also the CEO of TVGoods.com and the pioneer of the infomercial industry. Of his many ventures, his latest is the Canadian debut of the Inventors Business Centre. IBC Canada will act as an incubator for innovative ideas. The goal is for people to be able to capitalize on their unique inventions by use of IBC Canada’s diverse platform of resources.
IBC Canada is an ideal outlet for anyone with a creative mind looking to bring a groundbreaking product or idea to life. From general advice and project planning to patent attorney, prototypes and manufacturing, IBC acts as an integral resource for the planning and development of marketable goods and services. “We really do A to Z and we like to say that the inventor business centre is a one-stop place that can take you from idea to millions if your product works,” says Harrington.
After fostering a solid reputation for IBC in the U.S., Harrington decided to team up with Canada’s Steven Page to broaden the incubator’s geographical scope. Having both reached bountiful success in the direct response industry, the pair are perfect headliners for a format of this nature.
The official launch of IBC Canada took place at Toronto’s Burroughes Building on May 19, 2010. The night consisted of delicious drinks, in-depth discussions and networking. Harrington was even joined by fellow Sharks Kevin O’Leary and Robert Herjavec. “I think it’s tremendous, what he’s doing,” said O’Leary. “We need something like this in Canada. This is an outlet for great products, great inventions and entrepreneurs.”
