National design icon and former editor in chief of Canadian House & Home magazine had a lot to say on Jan. 18, 2011, when she arrived at Décor-Rest in Vaughan for an exclusive unveiling of her new product line. Cobi Ladner introduced Cobistyle to a room packed with media and eager interior designers, highlighting the vision behind her “collection of beautiful ideas.” In a market of similitude, Ladner aimed to produce unpretentious home furniture and accessories that aren't only comfortable, but are also versatile enough to reflect the personal style of each homeowner. “I’m pretty consistent on my own tastes and ideas and I was really kind of champing at the bit to do this and it’s been great because I was ready,” says Ladner.

Encouraging homeowners to throw their fear of colour to the wind, Ladner’s Canadian-made collection is perfect for adding a playful punch to any space. Whether it’s plush turquoise bed frames or arrestingly elegant arm chairs, Cobistyle can make itself at home in either traditional or ultra-modern environments. “I just want people to be happy in their houses … usually that comes with some self-expression and just enjoying their home is really what it’s all about.” Ladner’s extremely pleased with the reaction she’s received so far, the design guru only has one problem: “The only hard part is to edit it, I just want more!”
